James Cowell Turner

Richard Turner (1714-1796), his wife and six children settled in New England in 1774. At the time of the American Revolutionary War, his son James Cowell Turner (1743-1823) moved to Bocabec, New Brunswick. The land there was not very productive. His son, William, and his family moved to Upper Canada buying 400 acres at lot 29, Concession 5, Township of Pickering, County of Ontario. Both my father and I were born there and Dad farmed until 1955.
