Daniel Cummins was born in Lebanon Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey and moved with his family at age four to New Jersey. At the outbreak of the Revolution Daniel’s brother John joined the New Jersey Volunteers and was later captured by the rebels and died while imprisoned.

Ray Cummins has proven his descent from Loyalist Daniel Cummins who along with his wife and five children, left their home in Sussex County, New Jersey and settled in Flamborough Township in 1795. Later they re-located to Ancaster Township. Daniel’s family, particularly his son, David from whom Ray is descended, founded the village of Millgrove. …
