Our Genealogist Michele Lewis Has Been Awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal

At the New Year’s Levee of Minister Karina Gould in Burlington on January 12, 2025, Michele Lewis UE — long-time genealogist for the Hamilton Branch of the United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada — was honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

The medal, created by the Governor-General to celebrate the King’s coronation on May 6, 2023, was designed to recognize those Canadians who “have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.”

In Michele’s case, the medal was awarded for her “significant contribution to Burlington, Ontario” and specifically her many years of work on Canada’s heritage and history as a UELAC genealogist.

We join Minister Gould and Michele’s friends and family in congratulating her for this remarkable achievement.
