Ebenezer Jones was a tenant farmer residing in New York near the Westchester/Dutchess County Line. He joined the King’s Orange Rangers in 1777 and was a recruiter for them. He and his family settled in Saltfleet. Several of his sons were active in the military and his son Augustus was a well-known surveyor.
